Leopold Nunan presents a dance music show extravaganza, “The Leo From Rio Sound Machine”, on Sept. 26th in West Hollywood

Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Leopold Nunan aka Leo from Rio is a multidisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles. As an active member of the LGBTQ community in California, Leo not only creates beauty through dance and multimedia arts but also empowers people from different backgrounds to express themselves in ways they want. In “The Leo from Rio Sound Machine” show, the artist will release a new single called Feeling Like Myself Again and pay homage to iconic artists who have influenced his work like Grace Jones, Chaka Khan and Aretha Franklin. Leo will perform at 6:30pm on Sunday, September 26th at the West Hollywood Park, California.

“What makes this so special to me is that I have put together a show with 26 amazing musicians from the community. I am truly grateful for the City of West Hollywood that is allowing me to share this to the world in our own backyard”, said Leo.

The event, a recipient of the 2021 WEHO Arts Performance Grant, brings to the public a free 2 hour live multi-genre concert, a dance music show extravaganza that will showcase a full band, Dj’s, dancers, live drums, special effects, drag queens, step and repeat and special guests from different countries.

In 2019, Leo released the single Banzé, a song which brings together elements of both Brazilian and American cultures, sampling a native flute, favela funk Tamborzão, lots of Beat-box vocals, Miami Bass breakbeat produced by Donatinho.
